AZALEA CITY BONSAI SOCIETY FALL SHOW OCTOBER 20, 2018

On October 20, 2018, the ACBS (Azalea City Bonsai Society) had a Fall show at the West Mobile branch of the Mobile Public Library.  I was hard to imagine it actually being Fall, as temps had been in the upper 80's and 90's with 123579521% humidity -- more like Summer was hanging on tight and going out swinging.

Sometimes it is hard to have a show this time of the year in the Heart of Dixie.  With the heat, there is no leaf color change on deciduous trees, most of them are crisy on the edges and look tired and ratty.  In spite of this, the members managed to put together a nice variety of trees for display.  Joe Day, Joe Kuhn, Pete, Becky, and I was present to engage the on lookers and answer questions.

The library provides a nice place to have a display because they have a large portico overhanging the entrance which allows plenty of room for set up, keeps us out of the sun, and offers shelter if one of those afternoon thunderstorms that the South is famous for happens to pop up.  Everyone going in or out walks by the trees.
