SAVING A SERISSA

If you have been keeping up with the blog, earlier you may have read, "A Goodbye for an Old Friend".  I posted an update to that article showing how it had recovered as of today, and it was an impressive recovery.  So, I thought that I would try it on another, the serissa in this article, Serissa Don't Like Wet Feet.  Its health had deterioated further and it is obvious that it did not have enough roots to suppot itself.  I started by cleaning up the nebari to see where I should start the process.  I then made some small, evenly spaced incisions to which I applied some rooting hormone.
I then placed a cut down pot around the base of the tree and back filled it with soil.  Hopefully, in a few months we will have a bunch of new roots and will have this one on the road to recovery.
Look for an update next Spring and we will see it we made new roots.
